It's cold outside... how do I marry style and warmth?

It's cold. It's only going to get colder. Here are some pieces of advice about how to keep up the fashion game in the freezing months.

EXTERIORS OVER INTERIORS is my winter mantra.
Winter is a time when your coat will be the star of the show. No one is gonna see that crop top you have buried below t shirts, jumpers, coats, and scarves. Pay attention to your jumpers people! Love them, don’t leave them till the last minute when you have so delicately decided on a great vest and mini skirt combo. It’s not going to roll. Work from the outside in.
ENJOY YOUR COAT DONE UP When your coat fits properly done up over your outfit, you can’t ever really complain. You will be snug, you will slay.
If you need to size up in your coat, do! Make sure you like how it looks and how it fits. Being cold is not worth it. You can look amazing and be really toasty.
Here is the same trench coat but with two different styles of accessorising. Your coat can be the main character.

Adding and removing accessories are an amazing way to set the tone when you have the blank canvas of a coat that's done up.

Luckily for us, coats are so accessibly purchased second hand. Charity shops, vintage shops, vinted, ebay, and depop are host to a myriad of winter coats waiting for you to pick them up. My personal favourite coat was £8 in a kilo sale. Don’t think that obtaining a warm coat needs to be an expensive endeavour.
LAYERING is a great way to stay warm and stylish. We are all used to a t-shirt over a longsleeve / thermal, but here are two examples of skirt trouser layering that means you can get the full effect of layering.

When you have a really warm skirt like a kilt, pairing it with jeans does make all the difference - and it looks freaking great.

Here is another pleated skirt trouser combo:

which can be layered even more with a jumper that matches the trousers:

Other great layering choices:
Two socks - perhaps one sheer one wool for a nice texture contrast
Turtleneck jumper underneath a crewneck jumper. This is great with a pop of colour - imagine
the pairing below:

HATS Cultivating a good collection of hats to pair with every outfit could mean that hats become the key to taking your outfit from C to an A*. How convenient that said key also makes you nice and toasty?
Beanies, berets, baker boy hats, (why the alliteration?) you name it!
You can get these on vinted / eBay / charity shops.
I really recommend colour matching your hats to your outfit, or trying to work from the hat down. For example, if your hat is blue, getting some other blue accents in (socks perhaps?)
And finally...
SUNGLASSES spice it all up. It still gets sunny in winter. Put ya sunnies on love. Over and out.
Love this! So many amazing tips, I really wanna buy a baker boy hat now!!
